The Institute of Applied Biosciences has successfully contributed to the Emblematic Actions on vitis cultivars, Greek wines, olives and olive oil. The Institute had a key role in the genetic and genomic characterization of Greek varieties.
Research projects implementation with Agrotech Export Partnership collaboration
The Institute of Applied Biosciences is a member of the Agrotech Export Partnership, which was created in 2020 by the initiative of 18 organizations and export companies of northern Greece.

In the framework of the Flagship Research Initiative of SARS-Cov-2, in the period 01.01.2021 – 31.10.2021 INAB|CERTH has processed a total of 42.756 samples with the method of molecular identification of the virus (RT-PCR) developed by Flagship Research Initiative. In addition, 10.554 samples have been processed by the rapid enzyme immunoassay method.

The new project of INAB|CERTH entitled “MINEFIELD: Investigation of action and development of environmentally friendly insect repellent and/ or fungicidal preparation from low cost mineral materials” was approved.
Memorandum Agreement between the Institute of Applied Biosciences and the Region of Central Macedonia
A Memorandum Agreement between the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB) and the Regional of Central Macedonia was signed. The scope of the agreement is the utilization of Thermaikos gulf Observatory measurements for the marine environment in order to be used for the development early warning predictive models for dangerous natural phenomena.
INAB|CERTH signs Program Agreement with the Region of Central Macedonia
INAB|CERTH signed the Program Agreement with the Region of Central Macedonia, through which free diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 virus are provided in host institutions, nursing homes, and structures, for people with special needs from the region of Central Macedonia.
