Panagiotis Madesis is an agriculturist, Assistant Professor of Molecaular Biology at the University of Thessaly and collaborating professor at the Institute of Applied Biosciences at CERTH, the Center for Research and Technology Hellas, Thessaloniki, Greece. He also holds the position of Visiting Professor at the Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He serves as the national representative of iBOL. In 2013 he was bestowed a distinction by the Ministry of Rural Development and the President of the Hellenic Republic. He is an expert in the field of food fraud detection and identification and adulteration detection. He is member of the Genetically Modified Organisms committee and the technical committee for the new varieties registration of the Ministry of Agricultural development; the Marie Curie Fellows Association (MCFA); the Greek Society of Biological Sciences the Greek Scientific Society of Plant Breeding where from 2012 he serves as member of the Board.
