Position: Postdoctoral Researchers
Konstantinos Rouskas is a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied Biosciences at CERTH (Center for Research and Technology Hellas), in Thessaloniki, Greece. Currently, he is co-supervising the European Horizon-2020 PROTEIN (PeRsOnalized nutriTion for hEalthy livINg) project. Dr Rouskas studied Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), then obtained his Master’s degree in Applied Genetics and Biotechnology and completed his PhD at the Human Genetics unit of the School of Biology of AUTH (in collaboration with the CNRS UMR8199 ‘Genomics and metabolic diseases’ laboratory in Pasteur Institute of Lille, France) (2012). Dr Rouskas then moved on to pursue post-doctoral work at INSERM UMR859 Biotherapies for Diabetes, Lille, France (2013) and at the Functional Genomics laboratory of BSRC Alexander Fleming, Athens (2019). He has participated in National and European projects in the field of human genetics and molecular biology and he is a peer-reviewer of international scientific journals (PloS One, BMC Medical Genetics, Eur J Nutr). His main research interests are the investigation of the role of genetic background and gut microbiome in precision nutrition approaches, study of gene regulation of gene expression in complex traits and diseases, precision medicine, next generation sequencing data analysis and systems biology.
