Aspasia Orfanou is a Software Engineer at the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB), which is part of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Medical Informatics from the University of Thessaly (UTH) in 2017, followed by a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from the University of Crete (UOC) in 2021. Her research currently focuses on developing bioinformatics tools and pipelines for the visualization and interpretation of genomic data. Aspasia is also an advocate for open-source and open-science principles, emphasizing the importance of reusability and accessibility in scientific research. Furthermore, she is interested in applying Systems Pharmacology and Immunology to single-cell RNA sequencing data (scRNA-seq/ spatial multi-omics).
